Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of the Sustainable Employment Department, and in conjunction with the Team Leader, the Services Nunavik Officer will complete a training to develop skills and knowledge required to fill the position. The duties of the Services Nunavik Officer include without being limited to:

§ Informing clients about the different programs offered by both Service Canada and Services Québec such as: employment insurance, family allowances, social insurance numbers, adoption, old age pension and old age security;

§ Acquire a good knowledge and understanding of the Act respecting Individual & Family Assistance, related standards, regulations and policies, and clients' rights, obligations and recourses;

§ Analyze applications submitted by residents in all Nunavik communities in both provincial and federal programs offered by the department’s mandate;

§ Providing various employment and training services to the population: giving support to clients to identify their interests, opportunities in vocational programs, skills, employment or training in order for them to access the labour market or re-integration;

§ Gathering statistics on the general employment situation within the region as well as on clients in the community by entering data on MESS computer system and File Maker Pro program;

§ Travel within Nunavik when required by supervisor and outside the territory for all matters related to the department’s mandate;

§ Public speaking to inform the population about services and employability in the region (FM, groups, classes, etc.);

§ Perform other related duties, as required, by the Assistant Department Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

§ Hold a Secondary V diploma or have equivalent work experience;

§ Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English and French;

§ Have office work experience (file forms, write reports, reading regulations, etc.);

§ Have strong analysis and communication skills and be autonomous and reliable;

PROJECT MANAGER – MUNICIPAL INFRASTRUCTURE
(permanent, full time, based in Kuujjuaq)

Reporting to the Assistant Director of the Municipal Public Works Department and working closely with the other employees of the Department, the Project Manager – Municipal Infrastructure ensures the management and monitoring of infrastructure construction contracts for municipal infrastructure improvements (roads, drainage, paving, bridges and culverts; solid waste disposal sites; municipal offices, repair garages and warehouses; drinking and wastewater treatment plants, etc.); as well as Capital Projects. The Project Manager also delivers technical assistance to the Northern Villages (NV) regarding the operation of municipal infrastructure.

The duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager – Municipal Infrastructure include:

Plan and manage the implementation of municipal infrastructure projects;
Evaluate the needs of the NV and assist with prioritizing projects;
Implement preliminary project stages with the NV (pre-project): programs, budget estimates, financing packages, etc.;
Coordinate the preparation of plans and specifications by external professionals;

Requirements:

Possess at least three (3) years of relevant, progressive work experience as a project manager or coordinator and giving technical assistance;

Under the Supervision of the Uumajuit Program Coordinator, the responsibilities of the Warden will include, without being limited to:

Assist in the realization of the Nunavik Wildlife Protection Plan objectives and the Nunavik Aboriginal Aquatic Resources and Oceans Management Agreement objectives;

Patrol the Nunavik territory so as to ensure that the regulations and wildlife exploitation modalities are respected (licenses, rights, etc.);

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in wildlife protection, fisheries conservation or equivalent; traditional land skills will be considered as equivalent experience;

Never have been found guilty of, or pleaded guilty to, an offence under the Criminal Code;

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Supply Chain and Logistics of the KRG Administration Department, the Coordinator of Logistics and Operations is responsible for coordinating all activities and functions related to KRG logistics and operations.

Specific duties shall include, but not limited to:

Plan, coordinate, and supervise all functions such as KRG Main Office receptionists, custodial requirements, maintain accurate stock levels of office type supplies, including overseeing storage of supplies and management of day-to-day logistical duties

QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of a post-secondary program in Operation Management, Logistics or equivalent field. Equivalent work experience and education will be considered.

Proven experience in team leadership with attention to quality of service provided

Under the supervision of the Director of Parc National Pingualuit, the Park Visitor Experience Officer is responsible for identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating visitor experience opportunities at Parc National Pingualuit. Establish and implement collaborative arrangements with community and regional stakeholders, partners, and business operators to develop and deliver heritage communication products, ecotourism opportunities, and environmental and outdoor education programming;

Assist in scheduling visits, organize visitor activities and work in collaboration with the employees to ensure training and visitor safety needs are fully met;

Assist the Parks Marketing in identifying and targeting specific markets, and in designing, developing, and delivering high quality visitor experiences;

Requirements:

A university degree in a related field;
A least two years experience in parks operations or any relevant work experience;
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with the public;
Demonstrated resourcefulness and excellent organizational and planning skills,
Possess good working knowledge of common computer systems (word processor, spreadsheet, database, etc.);
Solid teamwork experience;
Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, and French

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Possess a professional studies certificate (DEP) in heavy equipment mechanics, electromechanics or an equivalent qualification; relevant work experience will also be considered.
Have at least five years of relevant work in electromechanical in industrial sitting or equivalent field.
Experience with power diesel generators, as well as hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems, is an asset.
Computer savvy with working knowledge of Word, excel and related in-house power systems.

The Municipal Public Works Department (MPW) of the KRG is responsible to maintain the organization buildings (offices, police stations, airports, employees housing units, etc.) and to provide technical assistance to the 14 Northern Villages (NVs) in matters related to operation and maintenance of their recreational buildings (arenas, swimming pools, gymnasiums and community centres).
Reporting to the Nunavik Maintenance Coordinator of the Building Maintenance Section, the Specialized Building Technician-Plumber performs preventive maintenance and service/repair operations on plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment, controls which is used for water, waste, oil, hot liquids in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

DUTIES:
• Complete timely inspections, test and accurately report equipment defects or deficiencies on a daily basis;
